Trevoh Chalobah Poised to Replace Marc Guehi in Three Lions Selection
The Chelsea star emulated his brother Nathaniel in representing England, becoming the 21st duo of brothers to play for the national team.
Trevoh Chalobah is set to link up with the England squad to fill in for injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 26-year-old footballer is set to meet up with the team for England's remaining World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Serbia, although it has still not been confirmed.
The England team have already secured qualification for next summer's tournament.
Chalobah received his first invitation under England head coach Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against the Senegalese team.
In September, Tuchel remarked Chalobah was unfortunate to be excluded from the team for qualifying games against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the subsequent October international break.
Tuchel has been an significant figure in Chalobah's progress, having given him his Chelsea first-team bow in 2021.
Chalobah has appeared in all but four games for Chelsea this season, with the team occupying third spot in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League.
Guehi picked up a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Europa Conference League success over the Dutch side last week.
There are expected to be other call-ups to the squad. Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe has confirmed that both winger Anthony Gordon (hip injury) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (concussion symptoms) are set to pull out from the England setup.
